ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Diego H. Tobón is a retired FBI Special Agent with twenty years of service across five field offices. Born in Pereira, Colombia, he came to the United States as a child and became the first in his family to earn U.S. citizenship.
A certified Undercover Agent and FBI SWAT Operator, he received the FBI Director's Award for Outstanding Criminal Investigation and the FBI Combat Theater Award for his service in Baghdad, Iraq.
In A Different Kind of Gold, Diego tells the story of his journey from a Colombian cocaine dealing family to becoming an FBI Special Agent.
It is a memoir about courage, faith, family, and the real cost of a life spent protecting other people.
He lives in South Alabama with his wife Angie, a retired FBI Special Agent. A Different Kind of Gold is his first book.
