Join us at Page & Palette for Signing Saturday! On August 16th at 1PM, M.S. Gardner will be here with her book, Wolf’s Bane. Enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine as you visit M.S's table. We hope to see you there!

WOLF’S BANE

Old sins cast long shadows. Penny had plenty of excuses but not one good reason for ditching her beloved Grandma’s wake in Osyka, MS and hightailing it back to her life in Seattle after the funeral. Six months later, circumstances force her to return to Mississippi, back to Grandma’s house. Penny has three days to clear out decades’ worth of a life, three days to wander through a forest of mingled memories. As she ventures deeper into the past, nebulous feelings of guilt and shame rise up and grow stronger in the heat and humidity. In this forest, a wolf lurks in the shadows, stalking her—something she’s forgotten. Something she doesn’t want to remember. It’s one thing to survive the wolf. It’s a whole other ordeal to finally kill it.

M.S. GARDNER

M.S. Gardner moves between the worlds of fabulism and realism and draws inspiration from the absurd nature of life. She’s perfected her impersonation of a normal human being well enough to hold a job. While her physical body resides on the Alabama Gulf Coast, she mostly lives in her head. Her work has appeared in That Is TOO Wrong! An Anthology of Offbeat Horror Vol. 2, The Dead Mule School for Southern Literature, Psychopomp, and Terror House Magazine. Her novella Wolf’s Bane won the 2024 Moon Meridian Novella Award and was published by April Gloaming Publishing in 2025.
