The Krickets | New Album Redbird

The Krickets are a female Americana group from the Florida / Alabama gulf coast who's music is what Paste Magazine calls a "a truly stunning, one-of-a-kind sound." Fresh out of the studio, the band is proud to release their sophomore album entitled Redbird. Produced by Grammy nominated Sam Ashworth (Joy Williams, The Lone Bellow) and recorded at Brown Owl Studios in Nashville, this album has everything from traditional country to folk rock, all steeped in swamp harmony.

All tracks written by different variations of band members, the group trades lead vocals and instruments throughout the album. Sam Ashworth lends his guitar, drums and keys while other guests musicians include famed pedal steel player Bruce Bouton (Reba, Garth Brooks) and Jeff Taylor on mandolin and accordian. This album is for the story lover. A fusion of Americana, folk and Bluegrass meant to be savored.

Notable:

- Official 2018 SXSW performers / Folk Alliance International Showcase,

- 2016 IMA Winners for Folk Song of the Year for single Cool Cool Water

- November 2018 release, Winter Wonderland produced by Grammy winner Jerry Salley.

Bonus fact: A portion of proceeds from every album sale benefits the Sacred heart Hospital Guild’s “Cricket Fund” in honor of Cricket Russell (namesake of the band) providing screenings to the uninsured in rural north Florida. The "K" was interchanged to give space to Buddy Holly's fabulous Crickets. Click here to donate to the Cricket Fund.
