Page &\; Palette will be offering the "\;Turn the Page"\; Literary Camp
again this summer. The focus this summer will be on exploring creative
writing for school age students grades 3rd-12th. The camp will be
9am-noon\, Tuesday-Friday.
Students will explore and experiment
with creative writing in poetry\, short stories and book format. Students will
gain tools to inspire and express themselves through writing. Students
are encouraged to bring their own work to discuss if they have some\, but they
do not need to bring anything to get the most out of this workshop. A
piece by each student\, will be published on the Page &\; Palette website\, www.pageandpalette.com\,
and the Fairhope Public Library website\, www.fairhopelibrary.org\,
and a piece picked by the class in Views and News at the end of the summer. One
day of each session will have a surprise local\, published author to host\, mentor
students one-on-one.
Each session will be held at Page &\; Palette\, 32 N. Section Street\, Fairhope
and some sessions will include walking field trips in the downtown area.
The cost will be $100 per child\, with each additional sibling at $80\, the class
limit is 15 students\, so register today! The fee includes\: an age
appropriate book\, daily snacks\, and camp t-shirt. The students will need
to indicate their t-shirt size on the registration forms due on May 15th to
ensure their place in the class and the correct sized shirt. Payment may
be made by check payable to Page &\; Palette\, please pick up and turn in
registration forms and money to Page &\; Palette. For more information\,

Students ages 8-14 are encouraged to join the Creative Writing Adventures at
the Fairhope Public Library every Monday from 2-3pm\, in June and July for an
adventure and a prompt to help inspire creativity and use the skills they learn
in the "\;Turn the Page"\; camp. The library events are free\, and a
nice complement to the more in-depth exploration in creative writing held by
Page &\; Palette.
